BILLY JAYE- That New Postage Rate (Rose 119)
Interesting little record here on the Rose label out of Oklahoma about the increase in postage.
Makes me a bit misty-eyed... thinking back to the olden days when I'd run to the mailbox to see if the gal I met at summer camp had responded to my love letter. Or if a pal had any info on upcoming punk rock shows in a barn in San Angelo. Or maybe Nanny had sent me her monthly note with $25 spending money when I was in college.
Now my mom wants to know why I won't respond to her texts or emails.

Nice bit of Hillbilly any chance of the flip side?
ReplyDeleteFlipside is by a different artist, as Rose was apt to do. Not memorable at all. Next time I have a recording session I'll see about the flip.
ReplyDeleteLooks like Bill Jaye's real name is Billy J Burden and he cut a few sides for NSD "A Message to President Ronald Reagan"/"This is my Flag" as well as "Something Ought to be Said" Besides that my search turned up little. You known anything more about the man, it's one strange song!
